Our History
From engineering roots to a multi-specialist group supporting the UK’s most ambitious builders, makers, and producers.
The TCI Group story begins in 1966, when a precision engineering company called Techcraft Industries was founded with a clear principle: do things properly, or not at all. Over the decades, Techcraft earned a reputation for solving complex manufacturing problems across critical industries underpinned by the drive, ingenuity, and mechanical expertise of its founder, Roy Lane.
Roy wasn’t just an engineer. He was a visionary. His pioneering work on the Techcraft BRM racing car set new standards for British motorsport innovation, combining engineering discipline with competitive performance. That same mindset runs through everything we build today.
